Satvikaraja Charitam. Vol III Book VII Chp 21 Shlokas 11 - 12
सर्वसद्गुणपूर्णोपि राजा धर्मपरायणः |
कालक्षेपं चकरैव सन्ततं द्यूतलीलया ||
अमात्यैर्गुरुभिक्ष्चापि भार्यया वैष्णवैरपि |
बहुधा बोधितोप्येष द्यूतलीलां न चात्यजत् ||
Though he possessed all noble qualities and was keen in following the dharma, he was whiling away hi entire time in gambling. He did not give up gambling even after he was repeatedly advised by his minister, his wife, the vaishnavas and other elders.
