Namadeva Charitam II Vol III Book VIII Chp 5 Shlokas 22 - 23
नामदेव उवाच
किमेतत्स्वीकृतं रूपं गर्हणीयं जनार्दन |
विलोक्य दूनचित्तोस्मि तव सौलभ्यमीदृशम् ||
यथा मत्स्यवराहादिरूपेण पुरुषोत्तम |
पूर्वं धृतानि कृपया तथैवेत्थं कृतं प्रभो ||
Shri Namadeva asked
Oh! Janardana! I am upset to see Your simplicity. Why did You take the form of this low creature? Earlier You had taken the form of the divine fish and the divine boar. Like that, have You taken this form also due to Your unbound mercy?
