Satvikaraja Charitam. Vol III Book VII Chp 21 Shlokas 1 - 3
श्रीसद्गुरुरुवाच
ययाकया च विधया बह्वन्नं प्राप्नुयान्नरः |
न कुर्याद् द्यूतसेवां तु स्वपराहितकारिणीम् ||
कर्मभिर्विधैर्लोके समार्जितधना नराः |
सर्वे जीवन्ति कृच्छ्रेण छलयन्ति खलास्तु तान् ||
अलसो दीर्घसूत्रक्ष्च द्यॊतेनैव हि जीवति |
वञ्चयन् कर्मवीरांस्तु तस्माद्दण्ड्यो नृपेण सः ||
Shri Sadguru said
A man can earn a rich livelihood through any possible effort. But he should never engage in gambling, which spoils himself and others. In this world people make a living by toil and suffering of different kinds. But the malicious ones cheat them. A gambler deceives the people who are earnest in their work. He does not have any interest in any sort of labor. He exists supported by gambling. Hence is is punishable.
