You are the Lord of lords, worshipped even by the devas like Brahma. How can You dance like this oblivious of Your position? We are maddened with the nectar of perm Bhakti and hence we dance and jump like this. It suits us only. Swami! Please keep up Your prestige, become calm, get pacified, be seated on the throne adorned with exquisite pearls and shower mercy on us with Your beautiful eyes.

So induced by Janabai, Shri Namadeva sang in a high pitch and enhanced the bliss of Nama kirtan. At that time the ever blissful Lord Panduranga danced uninterruptedly whirling so fast like a fire. Shri Kabirdasa, the greatest devotee of Lord Rama, looking at His dance with folded hands, pacified Him saying soothingly as follows:

Oh! Swami! Namadeva! The greatest of the bhagavatas! My venerations to you. Please strengthen the graceful elegance and the joy of Nama kirtan more and more. Lord Sarveshwara in whose control the whole world abides is in your control now, and is dancing joyfully losing control of Himself. He is forgetful of Himself, is holding the yellow silk dress in his hands and is dancing so excitedly in front of you. Please sing His praise in a melodious high pitch so that the dress He is holding in His hands shall fall down as He dances fast.

He was as beautiful and exquisite as a crore of Manmathas. The Lord who is not attainable even to the devas like Brahma stood in front of Namadeva with tinkling anklets and with His hands on His hips and started dancing exquisitely. All the bhagavatas were in ecstasy to see Lord Purushottama there and hence in loud voices they sang the Divine Names of Lord Hari

Some sang in praise of Him, while some danced; some fainted, while some wept with devotion, hairs standing on end. Some embraced one another, and prostrated before one another. Some whirled round like the lunatics.

Kabidasa, the great gnaw, played on the Mrindangam, Janabai, the devotee of Lord Hari, sang melodiously, accompanied by the Veena, on which she played simultaneously. Gnanadeva and others proclaimed loudly the praise of the Lord. Shri Korakumbha played the cymbals. The most chaste Rajayee melodiously started raga aalapana. Standing amidst all these devotees, Shri Namadeva sang the Divine Names of Lord Hari.

The seers have prescribed chanting of the Divine Names of Lord Hari, for the common people, having in mind the incapacity of them to perform other rituals and taking into account the blemishes of Kali. Lord Hari is present in all those places where His devotees do Nama kirtan with true loving devotion. In the Kaliyuga, it is not possible to attain Lord Hari with the means of yoga, yajna, penance or austerity. Only with the help of Nama kirtana it becomes possible. Great devotees, the beloved ones of Lord Hari, were born to spread the glory of Nama kirtan that eradicates all the ills of the Kaliyuga.

Lord Panduranga, the rasika of all graceful arts and beauties and the very embodiment of bliss and beauties indulged in sportful love while grinding flour. When he saw them engaged in loving sport, Shri Namadeva, the best of the bhaktas, felt very happy like the emperor Janaka (the father of Devi Sita). The mother of Namdeva could not realize the presence of Lord Shri Madhava. She rebuked Janabai asking her with whom she was playing like that. Immediately Namadeva approached his mother and explained to her the grace of the bond of love between Janabai and Panduranga and consoled her. Lord Pandarinatha, the true bestower of divine love, the Lord of the universe, the head of the devas, the spouse of Devi Rukmini, the savior of the world and the fortifier and enhancer of Janabai’s merits, disappeared immediately

Thus ends Chapter Six entitled ‘Janabai Charitam’ of Book VII of Shri Vaishnava Samhita composed by Shri Shri Krishna Premi Swamigal.

After finishing all her household duties, burning in the agony of separation from Lord Panduranga, Janabai was lying in a corner of the house. After all at home had slipped into a sound sleep, Lord Panduranga, the consort of Devi Rukmini, called out Janabai coming close to her. Bhagavan Shri Hari had His sport of love with her for a long time and pleased her very much. Then at the close of the night, Shri Bhagavan got up along with her and started helping her in the household work.

Namadeva saw Lord Panduranga like this; He was as bright as a bunch of a crore of lightning rays. He was clad in gorgeous yellow silk. He, the ocean of mercy, was supporting the demolished house with His head. He was wet in the rain. He was wearing a fragrant garland. Seeing Lord Hari, the Lord of the devas, the asylum of the devotees and the embodiment of constant everlasting bliss, Shri Panduranga appear there like that, Namadeva was transported with inexplicable love for Him. He took Him inside the house and paid due obeisance to Him. Lord Madhava had His meal along with His devotee and lay there itself as it was still raining outside.

Once when Namadeva was thoroughly immersed in chanting the Divine Names forgetful of himself, it started raining very heavily accompanied by a storm. At that time, Namadeva’s house was toppled down. At midnight, when the Nama kirtan was over, Namadeva came out of the house and saw the merciful Panduranga standing there.

Shri Namadeva saw that girl Janabai standing there, hands stretched out and crying. The generous Namadeva brought her home and took care of her as his own daughter. Soon she reached the threshold of youth and started developing deep love for Panduranga. Often looking at Shri Panduranga’s handsome face and broad chest, she was attracted to Him. Lord Panduranga too was attracted to this beautiful and loving girl who had deep love for Him.

Any of these - viz. a man, an animal, a bird, any living being - which is in the company of a vaishnava becomes the object of Lord Shripati’s merciful affection. Hence, he who lives in the company of the sadhus, daily engaged in serving them, is the really intelligent person. Once on the Ekadashi day in the Shukla Paksha (the eleventh day from the new moon day), many pilgrims from distant places came to Pandaripuram to have the darshan of Lord Shri Panduranga. After the festival was over, all left Pandaripuram. A lone girl was crying standing in the temple.

Having spoken thus, Shri Bhagavan, the Lord of lords, the uplifter of the refugees, repeatedly fondled His bhakta and vanished. Thus it is clear that Bhagavan Shri Vishnu gets pleased with true devotion accompanied by an unperturbed disposition and a mind to find perfect equality among all living beings. Lord Shridhara, the very embodiment of kindness and affection, never accepts the Pooja offered by those who nurture ill-feelings towards others and thus have maligned hearts. Lord Madhava graciously accepts the obeisance of the devotees who have purity of heart and have mutual love and affection. Hence one should adopt at any cost Bhagavata Dharma which grows on the feeling of mutual love, and propitiate Lord Vishnu who is present everywhere and who envelops everything.
